"Staff who care"

About: Bassetlaw Hospital / Trauma and orthopaedics

(as a parent/guardian),

I took my grandson to the fracture clinic at Bassetlaw District Hospital. The nurse in charge said that appointments were running 1 hour late, I explained this to my grandson who has additional needs and who does not like waiting. He began to get quite anxious and staff acted quickly and took him through to the plaster room to have his pot removed. Staff in the plaster room were amazing with him ensuring that he knew exactely what they were doing. As he was getting anxious that he may have to go in to a wheelchair and wait for the consultant to see him staff asked him if he would like the consultant to come into the plaster room. My grandson said yes please. The consultant was there within 2 minutes and put him at ease straight away. It was a pleasure to meet such wonderful staff who are going through turmoil. Well done staff of the fracture clinic.

Hi - What wonderful feedback, thank you so much for taking the time to let us know of your recent experience in the Fracture Clinic at Bassetlaw Hospital. I am so pleased to read how well you were cared for by the team.

I have forwarded your comments to the manager for the fracture clinic who will share with staff who will be delighted to know they made such a difference to the experience you and your grandson had.

Regards

Gill
