"My child was treated well in the ..."

About: Newham General Hospital

(as the patient),

What I liked

My child was treated well in the A&E department. My child had a head injury and was vomiting due to her head injury. The receptionist didn't seem to care about my child, who was vomiting in front of her. The nurse who saw us was very lovely, welcoming and listened to us. She assessed my child and made sure she was absolutaley fine. Because my child had a head injury and vomiting, she wanted a doctor to check her out and make she was all okay before going home. The nurse wanted us to let her know if my child seemed more drowsy, floppy, vomiting more and a large amount. It was quite busy in A&E, but the nurse also checked up on us to make sure my child was alright. When the nurse was explaining things to us, it seemed like she has been wrking there for a long time, but has not. She seemed very knowledgeable, and knows what she is talking about. I would like to thank that nurse very much for making us feel like human beings and for doing the best she could.

What could be improved

Some of the receptionists. I feel that they don't care what is happening to other people and their children and how ill they are.
