"A big thank you to staff at BRI"

About: Bradford Royal Infirmary / Trauma and orthopaedics

I have recently undergone ankle surgery on the 31st August and was under the care of Ward 5 as a day patient. I came in at 7:30 am and even at that time, I was amazed at how busy it was, yet this didn't hinder the care I received from staff. The staff on the ward were very friendly, helpful and really put me at ease as I was quite nervous. I would also like to thank the nurse who collected me to go down to theatre and all the staff down there including the surgeon as they really made me feel comfortable and calm. I cannot praise the staff enough, this is the second ankle operation I have had under the care of BRI and I would just like to say a massive thank you to all the brilliant staff.

Dear Lucy, first of please accept my apologies for the delay in replying, I am afraid something went wrong with the system that lets us know when someone has posted a comment here.

Thank you very much for your feedback, we will make sure the staff concerned see it, and they will really appreciate it. I am so pleased that you were reassured by our staff - having surgery is often a worrying time for people and it is important that we understand that and that all of us do what people need to feel more relaxed. I hope your ankle is healing well and you make a full recovery.
