"EXCEPTIONAL CARE OF DOROTHY BROMLEY"

We would like to pass heartfelt thanks on to all the staff working on Midgley Ward at Torbay Hospital between Thursday August 11th and Thursday August 18th 2016.

Our 95-year-old mother, Dorothy Bromley, received exceptional care from each doctor, nurse, health assistant and occupational therapist tending to her. Every staff member on the ward, from consultant to cleaner, worked with cheerful, positive professionalism. Dorothy was not only given the care she needed but given it with sensitivity and warmth. Every effort was made to allow her to die in dignity and privacy despite the constraints of a crowded ward.

We three daughters of Dorothy Bromley feel she received outstanding quality of care and we are hugely grateful.

I was saddened to learn of the passing of your mother, Dorothy Bromley, please accept my sincere condolences.

Thank you so much for taking the time to provide your feedback, dated 2 September 2016, to NHS Choices. Your effort is very much appreciated. Respect and dignity, and Compassion are two of the Trust’s core values and I was heartened to read that these were demonstrated throughout your mother’s stay on Midgely Ward.

The staff routinely strive to deliver a high standard of care and they will be very encouraged by, and grateful for your feedback. I will ensure it is forwarded to the Matron who will then share this with the staff at the next ward meeting.
