About: Royal Preston Hospital

(as a relative),

What I liked

hi my four year old daughter had an appointment to see the orthoptist and optometrist in March.she is usually very shy around strangers and does not like strangers having any kind pof close contact with her. For this reason i was very anxious about whether or not she would let the doctors check her eyes properly. However, when we saw the optometrist, they were really really good with her-very gentle, very softly spoken, and they spoke directly to my daughter putting her at ease immediately. This enabled the optometrist to take a detailed look at her eyes and advise us accordingly. Not only that, but the optometrist also went out of thier way to send me a prescription for spare glasses which i had been told by the opticians i could not get! The optometrist sent it by post within two weeks and was very kind as to cancel another appointment on my behalf. I was touched by how much effort they went to to keep thier word-a pesonal service not found much nowadays.

What could be improved

Maybe more activiteis for slightly older children in the orthoptics department.

Anything else?

I would be very grateful if you could commend the optometrist on how nicely they treated me and my daughter, and thank them on my behalf.
