An emergency scan took 6 weeks to arrange and I believe I had to contact my MP before I could obtain cancer treatment. My employers were told I had a large kidney cyst and they wanted me back at work, naturally. When I received my notes it was described as "massive" in one place and "huge" in another. On the Bosniak scale it was class III, which was likely malignant. I felt that none of this was discussed with me. I feel I was refused access to an oncologist and any details of my cancer.
I won't describe what the experience was like because I think otherwise it would be labeled inflammatory. To make matters worse the epidural failed because the pre-op didn't pick up a very large mole on my back so the anaesthetist did his best, which I wouldn't have minded if I hadn't been left for 12 hours without pain relief. I believe my medical notes diverge from reality, and I apparently asked for pain relief after the epidural was removed.
I won up - it only hurt if I tried to move or of someone touched my abdomen. It was when the surgeon returned the next day and I nearly ripped his arm off that I think I got morphine. Unbelievably, I felt like they rebuked me for not using it, but I craved sleep and unconsciousness and they wanted me to stay awake.
In the last few weeks I noticed what I think is petechiae on my feet, which I don’t think is a good sign. I am in bad health generally and showed to this to my GP. I felt like I was virtually bundled out of the office.
The NHS site says that I should dial 999, and I think my medical history probably demands it, but I had considered seeing my GP first to show I'm not hysterical, though actually it's probably irresponsible on my part. I think I need to sort this problem out. If I can't get any sensible comment I'll then go to A & E.
Because I am under the care of a consultant Urologist, then anything affecting my kidneys I think is his responsibility. However, I feel that my urologist has no interest in my kidneys and ignores any information because I think he is only looking for metasteses in my lungs. I believe he considers my right kidney was referred and is now gone. I think if anything else is wrong it would have to b re-referred.
