"Diagnosis of Optic Atrophy"

About: Addenbrooke's Hospital / Ophthalmology

Very unhappy with care given on last appointment (24/08/16).

Since April 2016 I have suffered a stroke, PE, pneumonia and loss of vision.

Understandably this has been a very stressful time for my family and myself.

We were treated terribly with no care or compassion.

Lack of communication as no introduction given and told abruptly that "you had a wasted journey as results had been lost".

We left the appointment with more questions than when we arrived and treated as though we had committed a crime.

Awful experience and one that I would not want anyone else to experience.

Another 6 week wait to receive results.

Very unhappy with treatment received.

Thank you for letting us know about your disappointing experience at your recent appointment.

I am very sorry to learn of the problems you encountered and this is certainly not how we would wish our patients to feel.

I have forwarded your comments to the appropriate senior staff, but please do not hesitate to contact the Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) on 01223 216756 or email pals@addenbrookes.nhs.uk so that we can investigate your concerns in detail and respond to you.

Once again, I am sorry for your poor experience.
