My name is Pauline Kavanagh and I want to tell you how wonderful you all are. My Mum fell and broke her hip on Sun 21st August. We arrived at Darlington Memorial in the ambulance which arrived within 15 minutes, the two ambulance people were fantastic with Mum and reassured her throughout their treatment of her and carrying her to the ambulance.. My Mum understandably was scared and in pain. The staff in the emergency department went to great lengths even though they were extremely busy to keep on top of Mums pain and to reassure her - and me. We eventually arrived on floor 3 Ward 33 where Mum stayed until today Wed 31st August. Throughout Mums stay all the staff looked after Mum with humour, care, a high standard of professionalism and a huge dose of kindness and compassion. They also answered the phone and answered questions from my worried and concerned brothers and sisters. Thank you all so much for being there and for caring. the cleaner who buffed the floor often chatted to mum to see how she was doing, always cheerful, thank you. all the nursing staff who dispensed drugs and injections and who cheerfully sorted out bedpans and cleaned up the mishaps, thank you. the Doctors who over saw Mums treatment, thank you. to the Surgeons who performed mums operation, thank you. to the kitchen staff and chefs for the wonderful food you produced, thank you. what on earth would we do without you all? thank you all from the bottom of my heart and from all the family for looking after our Mum so well.
"Outstanding care for our Mum, Jean Green"
