I was admitted to the priory roehampton in 2014, i stayed for almost a year in the adult edu. I can honestly say that the care was not helpful at all. The therapy side of the care was very much lacking and without which I had no tools to emotionally cope with the changes to my diet and body that I experienced. The staff were hit and miss, very few who cared and others who made it very obvious that you were nothing more than a job to them, as a human being I did not appreciate this attitude towards me. I felt emotionally drained being there with very unhelpful consultants who clearly were more interested in their pay than their patients. I feel it is no wonder that the priory have had so many incidents regarding the safety of their patients as they are a disorganised shambles of an organisation. They are holding on for dear life by living in the last when their name was actually synonymous with helping people with mental health issues. The institution is morally repugnant and I hope they close down in the future so others may be saved the agony I experienced whilst there.
