"Ectopic pregnancy"

About: Ipswich Hospital / Gynaecology

No compassion or empathy. Just another case of an ectopic pregnancy. I'm still going through expectant monitoring and having to attend peggy cole on a regular basis. When I was actually finally admitted to the ward after being in horrendous pain I was shown no compassion at all and was made to feel like I shouldn't be there so the second time I was admitted I discharged myself in the end as they made me feel so silly. I was never seen as someone who lost their baby just another "failing pregnancy" as they said in their own words. I'm actually sat in peggy cole at the moment waiting for another blood test and it's horrible seeing posters on the wall for expecting parents to be knowing my pregnancy is in my tubes and failing. It's very frightening going through an ectopic pregnancy and I was given no after care advice either just sent on my way. I also phoned them 3 days ago as I started bleeding heavy and still in a lot of pain to be told I can come in if I really have too it's part of the process. Just to add iv only had one scan and the consultant said it's in my tubes but then iv also been told they don't even know where it is. Apparently it's normal to be in "some mild discomfort" too but this is beyond painful and worse than when I had appendicitis but it's like they don't believe me. It's scary how little they know. Anyway I'm still sat here waiting for my blood test, thankfully iv seen it's the lovely doctor working today and this doctor is the only one who has shown me any care and compassion and listened to my fears. It's also bank holiday today and this doctor is the only one working today on Stour ward and looking after the ladies in peggy cole. 5* to you. Apart from this doctor, there needs to be some serious changes and I'm disgusted with the lack of care I have received.
