I was diagnosed with breast cancer at the beginning of this year. From that moment all I had had is brilliant care from the consultants to the nurses. I had my operation to remove lump in my breast and lymph nodes. Seven were affected but twelve were clear. I then started six doses of chemotherapy, one every three weeks. I was really apprehensive when I went the first but the nursing staff were all excellent at making me feel relaxed and safe. They explained everything that was happening and were so experienced. They all worked well as a team and made me so welcome. Today, I have just had my last chemotherapy. It was mixed emotions because I always felt so welcome to clinic p at new Victoria infirmary, Glasgow. We were all hugging and I was emotional. I am happy this part of the treatment is finished, but sad to leave such a great crowd. If you are just starting on your journey, remember nothing is too much of a problem for the nursing staff and help is always on the other end of a phone. Nothing is a bother to them. They always put you first. Thoughts to everyone going through this.
