"Experience of A&E at the RHCH"

About: Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust

I was taken to A&E by ambulance and upon arrival, was triaged. All fine until then. I was then called through to see a Dr. Sadly, it was one of the worst encounters I've ever had at the RHCH. The medic was brusque, curt and left me feeling as though I was a time waster. In less than 15 minutes I was assessed and told to go home...at approx 1.30am in the morning. Although being assessed for a physical problem, I had been sent to A&E in response to my contact with the OoH Mental Health Team. The A&E Dr did not ask me how I was feeling or even mention mental health. I can honestly say I left A&E feeling FAR worse than when I arrived. I wasn't asked about getting home and the Dr didn't even say goodbye.
