"Emergency outpatient"

About: Chesterfield Royal Hospital / Accident and emergency

I attended at peak time on Friday evening with chest pains associated with very high blood pressure. I was triaged within 10 minutes and in cubicle with 15. For the next 5 hours I was looked after by doctors nurses and ancillory staff . I declined to remain in overnight and was given medication and then advice by 2 doctors to ensure I had a good rest at home. The following day I received ambulatory care which mirrored the A&E treatment and it concluded with a senior doctor consultation that resulted in a course of treatment that 24 hours later has settled what was a life threatening situation. An exceptional primary care service. Thank you.

You clearly had a life-threatening emergency when you arrived with us and I am pleased that you received great care and treatment that enabled you to go home and return for treatment in ambulatory care.

The team will be pleased to read that you felt positive about the experience and I will make sure your comments are shared with them.

I hope your settled health has continued.

Kind regards Sarah Turner-Saint head of communications
