I was pleased after a few years of confusion and increasing symptoms to be referred to a specialist spinal unit, it seemed like a positive step.
Sadly, I was assigned to a doctor whose manner was depressive, cross and completely lacking in any empathy. They suggested an invasive procedure which, if they had evoked any confidence in me at all I probably would have agreed to. After this, there was no way I'd let such an odd, bad tempered character anywhere near me with a needle or scalpel! I don't know what it was (I'm a positive cheery person) - but their attitude was as if he didn't like me. It was an unpleasant experience. I am heartbroken as I am still in pain, back to square one and know enough about the NHS to understand a bad, negative experience will be blamed on me rather than this consultant. Very distressed but have no intention of going back.
"Odd preliminary visit to consultant"
