"orthapedic surgery to my lis franc fracture"

About: St Michael's Hospital (Hayle)

I came into the hospital apprehensive about my operation. From the start, my surgeon made me feel comfortable and encouraged any questions i had about my op. This really put me at ease and i couldnt thank them enough, a true credit to the NHS. The nurses on arrival were fantastic and caring. i was however left with a bitter taste in my mouth the next morning when a fellow patient who i had been opposite for 24 hr quite happily discharged himself. This was due to an uncompassionate nurse arguing with him about what the previous shift had prescribed him in painkillers. He hadnt slept all night and was in serious pain recovering from shoulder surgery which the nurse as a professional should have understood, but couldnt help escalating the situation by disagreeing with him. The Ward manager then agreeing with the nurse, i witnessed the event from the night before to it happening and was disappointed as i had had a lovely stay ruined by a nurse acting very pompus and completely in the wrong. No sleep! Pain! Patient! First and foremost as a nurse show compassion . As a professional show compassion. All the other nurses were fantastic. and i would recommend this hospital
