I was booked in for surgery on the 24th August at 10.am. On arrival the ward manager said they weren't expecting me!! However, after numerous phone calls, they discovered I was "lost in the system". They promised me they would get to the bottom of what had happened and alerted the matron who came to see me and said everything was being done to sort this out. My notes arrived at about 3.30 and the ward manager said that the surgeon/anesthetist had found a gap in their schedule, so could fit me in. So went down for surgery at 4.pm. I have to say that everyone was really lovely and they couldn't apologise enough for what had happened. All the staff really looked after me, one nurse was so attentive and concerned. The ward manager was so professional and really worked hard to resolve the communication issue. I cannot praise the way you looked after me highly enough and thank you so so much. I am in awe of your profession. Thank you is inadequate. Bless you. xxx
