"lack of respect"

About: Royal Bolton Hospital / Maternity care

admitted to m2 ward and after two days of no sleeping from stress and worry, finally get to sleep then four hours later lots of unnessacary noise being made at 2am in a bay where me and another patient was sleeping, no effort was made to keep the noise down as the staff member banged around with her obs machine and cleaning a bed that there was no rush to use whilst having the brightest light on...common decency is required.

Dear Katie, We were very sorry to receive your comments via the NHS Choices website about your experience. I understand that the ward manager spoke to you in the morning and apologised for your sleep being disturbed. The bed was being made up for an admission who in the event was transferred elsewhere. The bin had to be emptied as it was overfull. The staff in question were reminded of the need to be more careful when cleaning in bays where women are sleeping.

We take all issues surrounding patient care seriously and if you wish to discuss this further please do not hesitate to contact myself, Heather Rawlinson, Acting Matron, 01204 390390 bleep3813
