"I wouldn't hesitate at taking my children back there"

About: Heartlands Hospital / Accident and emergency

(as a parent/guardian),

My daughter had recently had her tonsils and adenoids taken out due to sleep apnea she had been sent home but we were told if she had any bleeding to take her to a local A&E as it would need checking.

We took her to heartlands hospital in Birmingham and after checking into reception we were told to go straight through to the nurses. It was aprox 10. 30 when we arrived and by 1. 30 she had been seen by triage, Drs and a surgeon and also admitted with bloods and antibiotics given. We were taken to ward 16 where she spent two nights and all the staff were fantastic and had a great bedside manor.

We are now home and she is doing much better thanks to the fantastic care given by all.

I wouldn't hesitate at taking my children back there. Very professional and would highly recommend it.

Dear Angelusmatris

Thank you so much for your kind comments about your daughter's patient experience at Heartlands Hospital's Ward 16 following her tonsils and adenoids being removed.

I am so pleased that your daughter was seen and assessed speedily and a decision to admit to ward 16 was made quickly.

I will ensure that your comments are highlighted to the Clinical Director for ENT, as well as the Ward Management Team for Paediatrics where your daughter was cared for. They will then ensure that your kind feedback is communicated to all of their team.

I hope this is acceptable and I do hope that your daughter is continuing to recover well now she is home. I send my best wishes to her.

Once again thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback, it is extremely important to us.

Kind regards

Marie Helebert
