"Excellent service in difficult conditions"

About: East Of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust / Emergency ambulance Ipswich Hospital / Trauma and orthopaedics

(as the patient),

I was admitted to Ipswich Hospital with a fractured spine on August (first class ambulance crew) following the spread of my cancer, arrived when the hospital was jam packed and clearly there were no beds. The efforts made to sort me out were brilliant. I spent time all over the place but at no time was I forgotten or neglected. The male nurse who looked after me was a hero. I then spent the night in Lavenham ward where I was treated with respect and professionalism. After my surgery I spent a few days in Needham ward and I have nothing but admiration for the way they dealt with some difficult patients and. obvious staff shortages. I'm guessing that I can't name names but I'm going to anyway. This not a full list but I just can't remember everyone. Nurses, there was Katya and the ever positive girl from Leeds? Bradford? Julie? No nurses or their assistants should be left from this list. I can see them, tall guy, oozing confidence. There was Joe, Sophie and her physiotherapy team, Kathy? and her pain relief and last but a long way from least, Peter from Macmillan, special thanks. I've missed a lot but thanks to all who got me safely home in a lot better state than when I went in.

Thank you for your kind words regarding the Trust staff who assisted you. It is always rewarding to receive positive feedback and I would like to pass your comments on to the staff involved and would be grateful if you could let me know by emailing the address the crew were called and the date this was - eoeasnt.feedback@nhs.net

With this information I will be able to trace the crew and pass on your kind words of appreciation. I am pleased to hear that you are on the road to recovery.

Kind regards

Marian

Thank you for taking the time to leave your comments regarding the care and treatment you received at Ipswich Hospital and with the Ambulance service. It is always great to hear when we get it right for a patient and I know that the staff will be pleased to read your kind words in recognition of their hard work and dedication when I pass your comments to the wards concerned. Once again many thanks for your feedback.

Update posted by Triangle (the patient)

Thanks for the responses, I know how easy it is to complain, part of my job is dealing with letters from the public about the standard of London's bus services so I appreciate it when someone takes the time to say something positive about our staff. Thanks again. Apart from the care they showed, they packed a bag for me and checked the house was secure before taking me to Ipswich.
