"I would rate the service 150%"

About: NHS Fife

(as a relative),

Last week, my wife woke with an eye problem, she had blurred vision in her right eye, she phoned her optician and had an appointment that forenoon. The optician discovered a problem with blood vessels behind her eye and immediately sent an E-mail to her GP. She was given a BP check on the day after and attended the eye clinic on the day after that. The Dr. at the eye clinic informed her that it could so easily have resulted in a stroke, she then received a phone call to attend the Chest heart and Stroke clinic the week after, where she had an MRI scan on her neck and an ECG. The Dr. there then explained the situation and gave her a request for medication for her own GP. All this was accomplished with no problems for us and we will be eternally grateful for the fact that it wasn't a stroke and for the extremely efficient and kind services of all the parties involved. I was prompted to write this as I have just been watching the BBC news at one and saw the NHS being given a hard time and I felt that it is only the complaints we ever hear about and never the great levels of service we received from all parties involved.

In my opinion, I would rate the service 150%

Thank you Fife NHS

Dear One grateful husband

!50% - what a great start to the week!

Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your wife's experience, it must have been a very frightening time for you both. I was delighted to hear of the prompt action taken by all concerned and to hear about the way information was relayed and the manner in which you were dealt with. Sadly it is often the bad news that makes the headlines; however there is much in the way of excellent work and your example is just one. Thank you so much for sharing, I will make sure I pass this on to the teams you have identified.

Kind regards

Louise Ewing
