"sent away with broken collarbone and sine fracture"

About: Lister Hospital

After a fall at home I went to qe2 in excruciating pain in my arm and back .

Find out at a later date that just my humerous was x rayed . No fractures

Apparently then sent home . Call ambulance get taken to Lister sent home again .Keep saying my collarbone is a different shape and my scapula and mid back is so painful. Made to feel I am the one going mad and basically wasting NHS time. Sent away more than five times. Change hospitals and find out I have a fracture to the collarbone and a thoracic fracture to my spine. I am now left with nerve damage and unable to work .

I didn't attend A&E for a day out or just to be dismissed and sent away. I did so because I was in excruciating pain. If only I had been listened to I could have received immediate and appropriate treatment . Instead of just take paracetamol !

It sounds like you did not get taken seriously and were not listended to, for which we are sorry.

We can see that this whole episode dates back originally to July 2014, but if you have not done so already then please do consider making a formal complaint so that we can get these important matters addressed for you - at the very least the team involved can look at what changes may need to happen to prevent such an experience reocurring for other patients.

And it would give us a chance to apologise for any failings in the care provided to you.

If you wish to take this opportunity up, then please just email us at generalenquiries.enh-tr@nhs.net and we'll get the ball rolling for you.

In the meantime, thanks for getting in touch and letting us know about what has happened.
