"Still worried about lump"

I discovered a lump in my breast over six weeks ago, needless to say I was concerned as I regularly undertake self BSE's and have visited my GP prior to this with cyclical breast pain but this lump felt different. On the first visit I was given a clinical examination, a cyst was aspirated (not on the same breast as lump) and I was asked if I wanted a mammogram (?!). At this point I thought that I would have had a diagnostic mammogram as opposed to a screening mammogram as I presented with a palpable lump. I had a screening mammogram. I then went home and waited for a letter for the results. Two weeks later no letter. Still waiting, worrying, not sleeping well etc. Phoned and was told I should have made an appointment before I left for the results! Returned to the unit, seen by another Dr who told me the mammogram was clear. That's it. I asked to have an ultrasound as I know that screening mammograms don't pick up all lumps particularly in younger women with dense breasts. More waiting. Returned for the ultrasound. Nothing was showing there either besides a small cyst near to the lump. Another wait for an appointment with the doctor. Swift clinical examination, they didn't seem to know what lump I had where or which side. I voiced my concerns regarding the lump which 3 practitioners had felt but had supplied no definitive answer to its nature. In response to my concerns the doctor rolled their eyes and started talking to the Nurse standing nearby about how they could find amazing things on the internet, in fact Elvis was still alive and well.

I left that office feeling that I had not received any Professional care whatsoever but I had been treated in a disparaging and arrogant manner. I am still worried about the lump that I came in with over six weeks earlier as I still do not know what it is which does not reflect well on a breast unit whose principal aim is to identify, screen and treat possible breast cancer.
