"GP sent me 3 times to casualty re hand"

About: Lister Hospital

The receptionist on A&E desk was very kind and helpful to my daughter and the triage nurse . Have no quibble with the xray departmernt eitheir they were very efficient in getting her ahand xrayed the 2 times it weas requested.

The problem was with the nurse that saw her afterwards with the results she was uncaring and called my daughter in and wouldn't let me go with her next minute my daughter was out again saying that she was told to get out of hospital as nothing wrong with hand and could keep the brace on if she felt it helped.

Over the 20 years we have lived in Stevenage we have had cause to come to A&E with our children now young adults and it is only in the past 2-3 years that they have begun to be unhelpful.

As an older Adult I wouldn't recommend the place to anyone over 40.

The brace was recommended the first time that she presented to A&E and then she had to go out and buy it from Boots as the hospital said that they don't stock such a thing.

We're sorry that this was your experience - if you email us on generalenquiries.enh-tr@nhs.net, as we would like the matter investigated.

Even if clinically speaking the decision was right, the manner in which you and your daughter were dealt with needs to be looked in to further.

We hope that you give us that chance.
