"I had my baby at Kingston hospital ..."

About: Kingston Hospital

(as the patient),

What I liked

I had my baby at Kingston hospital and thought the after care in the transitional care unit was fantastic. The midwives were kind and friendly and helped me with my baby round the clock, unfortunately i would not have been there needing round the clock care for a week had the doctors at the hospital been more careful...

What could be improved

There was a severe shortage of staff which meant i was neglected whilst in labour for 2 days. There was no staff to induce me and no birthing rooms available for me to move to. During delivery there were mistakes made first by the anaesthetist and then by the junior doctor both putting the lives and wellbeing of myself and my baby at risk.

Anything else?

I am still recovering from my traumatic experience at Kingston and am undergoing specialist treatment to correct the mistakes of the junior doctor who clearly did not have the correct experience to carry out the task without appropriate supervision.
