I attended the minor injuries unit after damaging my elbow in a fall. It was a Monday morning and several people were waiting. I was booked in and after a wait of ~ 1 hr I was seen, my wound was dressed and I was sent for a precautionary x-ray, which was fortunately OK. I have since been back twice for new dressings, and each time have been treated with the utmost courtesy and professionalism. There has always been other people in the unit when I have attended, on various days of the week. I really can not see how this place can be regarded as under-used, or how the powers that be can contemplate the removal of such an essential service in a town of this size.
