"MRI Staff did NOT tell me my choices"

About: Leicester General Hospital

Today I had an appointment in the MRI department at General hospital Leicester. Before starting the scan the staff only told me about noise and hence some aeroplane style earplugs. I felt quite claustrophobic at the start of the treatment and had to press the alarm to stop the treatment. The staff didn't tell me about any other options and told me that they'd let my go/consultant know that I couldn't do the scan. When I came home, I looked at reviews of the same (MRI) department and to my utter surprise I found a review by a patient who was given headphones and radio, so that s/he doesn't hear the loud noises and the mind was sufficiently engaged/distracted for the MRI to be completed. I feel very disappointed and let down by the staff. Had they offered me such an option as described above, I would've finished the scan. Now I will have to wait for, presumably a long time! Can't say I am very impressed!
