"Lack of compassion"

About: Shropshire and Staffordshire

(as a relative),

My wife has been struggling to control her weight for several years. She went to see her GP who prescribed some medication. In her first month my wife did really well with losing weight and her Doctor repeated her prescription. When she returned for another review the Practice Pharmacist weighed and told her she hadn't lost anymore. The Pharmacist spoke to the doctor who decided to stop my wife's prescription. The doctor didn't see her in person and didn't offer any other help or advice. My wife came home in floods of tears and extremely upset as she has come to rely on her weight loss medication as a ray of hope. She has been weighing herself every week on our new digital scales, according to which she has been losing weight but more slowly than in the first month. She is already on anti-depressants, has low self-esteem and is in a fragile state emotionally and psychologically. I think the doctor's casual and dismissive treatment of my wife is disgraceful.
