"On arriving to the Outpatients ..."

About: Queen Elizabeth I I Hospital (Welwyn Garden City)

(as the patient),

What I liked On arriving to the Outpatients department looking for the fracture clinic. I was greeted with friendly smiles from all of the receptionists. Provided with directions and booked in earlier than my alotted time slot and was seen, treated and left before my appointment was supposed to happen! What could be improved? Nothing. Anything else? Great staff. Really doing a good job.

We're so pleased to hear how well your appointment went. When people think of hospitals, images of our emergency departments and wards often spring to mind. But what many don't realise is that the busiest places - and the ones that see the most patients - are nearly always our outpatient departments. So getting this service right is very important, from booking appointments through to making sure patients get seen on time.

We know that we don't get everything right, but more often than not our staff do a great job - just like you experienced recently. Which is why we'll make sure that they get to hear your kind words - we know it will bring even bigger smiles to their faces!
