"Impressive service"

I arrived at A&E on Sat 20th Aug at around 18.15hrs, after sustaining a fall - about 20 yds from my home on return of my dog walk at approx.17.15.

He is a rejected Guide Dog who is traffic shy. A local noisy passing lorry approached us from behind which is a classic cause of a reaction. Following the guidelines from GDBA this is almost always surmountable, however this time I didn't have the lead wrapped short enough around my wrist, together with a distracting treat, to reign him in. As the van passed my dog jumped and took off to follow, & I was caught in the momentum - unable to stop, so put my arm out & slid along the grassy verge.I knew immediately the wrist was broken, & rang my husband (who came back from the nearby golf course) to take me to A&E. where we arrived just around 18.15. The waiting time displayed was approx. 2 hrs, After triage, by a Nurse Practitioner, X,ray, plastering,, re X/ray, then assessment by a Dr. The doctor was a very pleasant well spoken, who explained fully the scenario, and possible future plan. We left at around 21.15 - with a fairly hefty car park bill! My husband and I both agreed the whole episode was very satisfactory & all the staff extremely efficient, friendly, very caring & supportive. A big Thank you to them all. Judith MacBeth
