About: Lister Hospital

(as the patient),

What I liked The staff were exceptional in their care and willingness to discuss all aspects of my treatment. At each stage of my total knee replacement I felt fully supported and cared for. There was regular cleaning on the ward and it was very clean. What could be improved? More flexible visiting times. My disabled wife unable to travel after dark and therefore our visits were limited to the 1nr in the early afternoon and this was sometimes interupted by treatment. Anything else? The nursing staff on the orthapeadic ward (5B South) were always helpful, keeping everybody in good spirits and fully supportive through the pain and stress following my operation. I cannot express enough how good they were.

East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust replies: Your comments are much appreciated and have been fed back to the team on the ward already. They have also been asked to consider the visiting times issues - although often patients find that if they raise the matter directly with the senior nurse in charge of a ward, individual arrangements can be sorted there and then.
