"ward 13"

I recently attended A&E with acute abdominal pain. After being seen and assessed very promptly I was admitted to ward 13 where I spent 5 days and underwent emergency surgery.

As a GP myself, I felt that the care I received on the ward was excellent , all the staff were attentive, efficient and friendly. I was involved in decision making and treated with respect. My only suggestion would be that the post operative advice on discharge could be improved. Information regarding wound care and post op activities, possibly in the form of a leaflet , would be helpful for many patients. This may help to reduce post op complications, calls to the ward and visits to the GP.
