About: Royal Bournemouth General Hospital

I attended on Saturday pm for altered time 2.40pm was 09.40 for appointment to see the consultant in the Macula Clinic to discover dept.closes at 12 a.m. You should know that my only method of travel is by taxi service .Return cost to me @£60.00 min. It is not feasible for me to use 3changes of Buses. Surely your appointments office are aware of open hours? Very disappointing following the otherwise superb service received earlier. Dear Mr Wright

We are sorry to hear that your original appointment had to be re-scheduled to a later date. I have made contact with both the eye unit and our appointments team to establish where the information about your new appointment came from and I have received the below response

“Apologies for any confusion with regards to changing your appointment. Having checked the letter that was sent to you for the new appointment it does state the appointment time of 9.40. The original date of the 5th August had your appointment at 2.30pm. We apologies for the confusion that changing the appointment has had.”

We will arrange for the Eye Unit to re-schedule your appointment for as soon as possible and confirm the new date and time via a telephone call. The department will also reimburse you for your wasted taxi fare.

Once again we are sorry the re-scheduling of your appointment led to confusion over the appointment time and hope that your future appointments run smoothly.
