An elderly lady who I help care for has been in St Barts for nearly 9 weeks now, after a month in Medway Maritime hospital. The service that she has received, on William Ward at St Barts, has been excellent from all staff, from the ward sisters down to the cleaning and maintenance staff.Nothing is ever too much trouble, whether being requests or questions from either their patients or the patients family/visitors like me.The wards are spotlessly clean, and are always being cleaned when I attend daily visiting. All staff treat the patients with respect and dignity and this has a positive effect on all who go to that hospital. This type of care represents the NHS at its' very best and all of the team are to be congratulated. It is tragic shame that this hospital is to close a in a few weeks. Whoever employs the staff that will have to leave William Ward, and indeed all of St Barts, will be very fortunate indeed.
