Speech therapy are excellent

Not been kept waiting at the outpatients stroke clinic and been treated as a human being there

What could be improved

Communication, its 3 months since discharge and still waiting for the results of tests and to see the cardiac doctor, still have no diagnosis! Phoned today and was told it could be some time yet, apparently there are too many patirnts for the number of clinics! and the ward didn't send the information properly?

There seems to be a complete lack of communication within the differing specialisms within the hospital, from the ward to cardiac to stroke, the occupational therapy actually rang 5 weeks after discharge to ask what I needed help with!

Complaints, made a complaint in feb and apparently it will take till mid april to respond to it, phoned complaints today to add the wait for cardiac outpatients to my original complaint the person I need to speak to will ring me back later today, still waiting and its now 21.00 hours

Anything else?

I am really disapointed with the hospital, both my sons have had in patient treatment and it was superb. The problem seems to be when more than 1 specialism is involved.

The hospital appears to function as if it is now run for the convenience of management and staff with little regard for the patient. There is no realisation of the stress suffered when having to wait for ridiculous lengths of time for a diagnosis and no consideration that a patients life is almost on hold while waiting.

The inadaquate car parking and excessive charges can be accepted if the diagnosis, treatment and care are carried out in a speedy, effective, considerate and caring manner, sadly this has not happened
