My mother-in-law is suffering from this debilitating disease. I have been struggling for months to get the right care for her but keep getting hampered by too many units doing various bits of the care my mother-in-law needs.
I was also struggling to get a Mental Capacity Assessment for her as I believe she is no longer capable of making the best decisions regarding her health and safety. Mr Foley took the time not only to explain how all the systems work, but also, to show me how the questions need to be put to my mother in law so that she can give a clearer answer as to her reasoning capabilities. He then wrote a letter which, has made the other services fully aware of her needs and limitations.
Thanks to his letter Social Services are now willing to start the process of getting my mother in law assessed. Without Dr Foley's help, professionalism and care, I would still be feeling isolated and failing my mother in law to get her the care she desperately needs.
I cannot thank Dr Foley and his team enough. They are a vital service helping vulnerable people, both patients AND carers, get the right help for complex and difficult issues.
"I no longer feel isolated"
