"discharged next day "

My mother aged 76 was taken to rotherham hospital by one of our family complaining of chest pain and difficulty breathing, she had fluid on her lungs due to what the doctor said was heart problem.

They drained the fluid and sent her home the next day,a few hours later mother was again finding it hard to breath and was in a lot of pain,we rang the hospital ward and asked if we could fetch her back,they said no she was discharged,the nurse said we can either take her to see her GP the next day or phone the ambulance.

We phoned the ambulance,mother is back in rotherham hospital tonight tuesday 23 03 10,my question is should my mother have been discharged so soon?

i dont know but time will tell.
