"Amazed at first class care for broken wrist"

I broke my wrist whilst on holiday in America and needed to get into the system when I arrived home. I was told to report to A and E with my papers and information from the American Hospital, this I did and was amazed at how smoothly the process was executed.

Had an appointment for the next day for x Ray and saw the orthopaedic surgeon on Monday. Unfortunately my wrist needed re breaking and a plate inserted. Within a week I had the operation performed on the day stay ward where the staff were superb - professional, caring and informative. I received follow up appointments within days, had my dressing removed after 2 weeks and saw the physiotherapist 2 days later.

I was both amazed and delighted with this treatment, it really was first class, I could not have wished for better treatment, even if I had been attending a private hospital.

I still have appointments to go but think that everyone who I met on this journey albeit receptionists, nurses, surgeons, accident and emergency staff, deserve a huge thank you for their hard work and professionalism.

Southend Hospital is in my mind a first rate hospital that is clearly working very hard to provide a high standard of care to the people of Southend.... Thank you!
