"Best Care Available"

About: Orthopaedics & Spine Specialist Hospital Site

I recently had a hip replacement operation at this hospital after a femur fracture in a cycling accident. There are, I believe, two aspects to any hospital stay, firstly the quality of the clinical care received and secondly the personal care received. At the Orthopaedics and Spine Specialist Hospital both these parts were of an exceptionally high standard. From the original discussion about my treatment with the surgeon who later carried out the operation to my final discharge from hospital, I was made to feel completely relaxed and my stay there was stress free. All of the clinical staff, without exception, were very professional but at the same time were very approachable and happily answered any questions that I had. I had been expecting a high level of pain after the operation but because of the expertise of all those involved in my operation the pain level was considerably below that which I had anticipated. On the personal care aspect of my stay in hospital, this too was of a high standard. Since this is a small hospital all the care was personalised, even down to the excellent meals delivered by the chef who prepared them. After my discharge from the hospital the district nurse who came to my home to remove my operation stitches commented that the wound stitches were the neatest that they had ever seen. In summary, from someone who has had very little experience in hospital stays, I would say that the quality that I have experienced here is what all hospitals should aspire to.
