"Mother is 88 and deaf. Why is she there? What..."

About: Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother Hospital

Most apppaling communication with cheerful sparrow female ward. Beneath contempt. No justification in mitigating with 'stress levels', over employed; lack of staff. We only wanted to talk. Why was she there? What was the diagnosis, what did scans reveal, does she need/ is she capable of undergoing endoscopy and collonoscopy, why would she need it? We have to deal with the unhelpfulness of your staff. This is not real.

I am really sorry about the lack of communication.

Please contact PALS (Patient Advice and Liaison Service) as soon as you can and we will ensure that someone helpful sits down and talks your mother's care plan through with you.

Please accept our profound apologies for the stress this has caused you both.

Please ring PALS on 01227 783145 or 01227 864314.

The line may well be busy when you ring and you will get the answerphone - please leave a message and they will guarantee to get back to you.
