The consultant I saw was so good in giving me an appointment for the same day, ringing me and seeing me at such short notice made such a difference in my treatment plan and I am very grateful for that. I felt very well looked after and quite comfortable in the Dental Hospital (despite being terrified of the dentist and hospitals in general). I was experiencing very painful mouth ulcers and was feeling very tired, down and was struggling with my energy levels for quite a few months. I didn't have to wait long to see the doctor and when I did, they were very thorough with the questions they asked me. The doctor gave me some medication to ease the pain and prescribed me some cream for my lips. They suspected I had lots of deficiencies and sent me to the GP surgery to get lots of blood tests done. The blood tests had shown that I did have a few deficiencies and that I tested positive for coeliac disease. This discovery lead to being referred to the Gastroenterology department at the children's hospital in Manchester. I have since had an endoscopy, confirming the diagnosis of coeliac disease. I do not think I would have received a diagnosis so quick (6 months from symptoms starting) if it wasn't for my doctor seeing me so quickly and testing me for coeliac disease. I had a follow up appointment at the Dental Hospital and my doctor was genuine pleased for me that my mouth ulcers including other symptoms have now gone. They even rang me up to check on me which I thought was very thoughtful. I am extremely pleased with the care I received from this Hospital and the staff and would definitely feel confident and happy in going back there if I had any more problems in the future.
"Excellent care and treatment"
