"Inadequate risk assessment for patient's..."

About: Uch at Westmorland Street

Thoracic team did not take proper consideration of the many illnesses my mother had, making her a very poor candidate for the type of surgery she was admitted for.

We went back to point out our concerns again before the operation but her concerns and conditions were not properly considered the surgeon.

The "risk" percentages pointed out by another member of the thoracic team were not specific to my mother, or anyone with her medical conditions, making her chances of survival seem a lot better than they were.

My mother spent 5 months in critical care, she died exactly 5 months to the day of the operation.

Please anyone reading this, get an impartial assessment of your physical suitability prior to such major surgery.

My mother knew it was a possibility she would not survive the surgery, she was not made aware that she could have endured such a long and torturous end to her life.
