"Endoscopy and colonoscopy"

About: Queen Margaret Hospital / Endoscopy

(as the patient),

I had been anaemic for some time and this is not expected at my age as I am 74, I was invited to have an endoscopy and colonoscopy to check for any cause of internal bleeding. Years ago, this happened to my mother-in-law and bowel cancer was discovered so I was anxious about it. note for my GP

The staff were all friendly, kind and helpful and put me at my ease. The procedure is not pleasant, but I was given a choice to be sedated or not. As my husband was waiting for me, I chose not to be. It was all over quite quickly and I was given a clean bill of health and a note for my GP.

I would like to thank Mr. Amin and the staff.

Dear Alexina

Thank you for taking the time to post your comments. You have had a worrying time recently and I can absolutely understand why you were anxious about coming for the tests. You did very well to manage both the tests without sedation and it was nice to read that our staff supported you well throughout your stay.

I am delighted that you were given a clean bill of health, you and your family must be relieved.

I will share your post with Mr Amin and all the staff who will appreciate that you took the time to give your feedback.

I hope that you have recovered well from your procedures

Thanks again

Gill Ogden
