"Operation cancelled again"

About: South Tyneside District Hospital

My mother's operation has been cancelled for the second time with less than 24 hours notice.

My mother has had to reorganise her work and other commitments.

The last time I had flights booked and paid for so I could care for her afterwards.

This time my mother will miss out on her holidays.

There is a reason that this kind of cancelling operations is monitored nationally.

It is exremely disruptive and shows a lack of caring about the patients everyday lives.

Whilst there may have been safety concerns which caused the cancellation, the fact that the op has been cancelled twice at such short notice shows a disturbing lack of planning. I hope the CQC picks up on your attitude towards your patients as you deserve a very poor rating based on this service.
