"Feeling very let down"

About: Wythenshawe Hospital

I have been dealing with the NHS regarding my infertility for almost 2 years. After waiting months I finally got my appointment with the consultant. I was just given a prescription of Clomid, which I knew would probably be the case, so not sure why I had to wait so long for this. When I arrived for my appointment as usual they were running behind - this time it was by an hour. Because of this I was handed my prescription and told to return on day 21 to have a blood test. I was pretty much ushered out the door whilst I was still in the middle of asking questions regarding the blood test and medication that I had been prescribed. I was given no written information what so ever regarding the medication. After resorting to my own research on the drug and speaking to my friends who have be prescribed it by a different NHS hospital I have since rang the secretary regarding my concerns. I specifically questioned why I had not been offered an ultrasound as is custom at other NHS hospitals due to the risk of multiple pregnancy. It took a week for them to 'respond' to my query only to not actually answer my question but tell me what the percentage risks were - which I had already had to research myself! I have now have no idea where I am up to with them or when my next appointment is. I have just been left on my own taking the medication.
