"My Dads care"

About: Castle Hill Hospital Hull Royal Infirmary / Accident and emergency West Park Nursing Home

(as a relative),

My Dad was diagnosed with throat cancer in February. No one seemed to help us. He was in castle hill. Some nurses were ok. But some it was i'll be there in a minute and took a lot longer when he needed the commode. Twice he was in there. The last time he was placed at a care home that my brother and I didn't know bout till after it was put into place. This was West park care home.

This was a bad place in our view. He was put in a chair for the day on his own. When he asked someone to take him to the toilet again he had to wait. He cant walk. Someone took him didn't change his pad put another on top. Place made him feel worse, when he was just starting to feel better.

He went in Hull royal. Just no communication. Told them not to mix his calogen with his peg feed cause he brings it up but still did it.

Macmillan have never returned our calls. We have never had any help. I did his feeds 4 times a day did his catheter. Trying to get help from drs to come out that's unbelievable. He is 82.

A few days ago he was in a lot of pain from 2.30 p m. Would take 4 hours for dr to come out. He couldn't get there he is bed bound. No dr came out. the carer had to ring 111 back around 9 pm they said they were sending an ambulance, it arrived just before 11p m. Got to hospital the nurse took details his temp was high but had long wait to see dr who didn't really seem to know what he was doing.

We had to wait till 4 a m before he got sorted put on a ward. So he had been in really bad pain for over 13 hours that is disgusting. He needs 4 feeds a day he lost too much weight was told today he his high risk but don't get feeds on time.
