"Extremeley pleased with visit to A&E"

Was referred to A&E at St Peters Hospital by Ashford Hospital walk in clinic who were quick to arrange for an eye specialist to see me after a shuttlecock going about 100mph hit my eye.

I Saw Mr Holmes who very quickly put my mind at rest as he had a very pleasant and calming nature and was very professional. This was on a Saturday as well. He explained to me that I had done some damage to my eye by showing me a picture of the eyeball, and what the treatment was going to be.

He saw me again on Sunday morning to see how the eye was progressing, to see if some of the trauma had subsided and to see if the eyedrops (three different types) were working. He saw me again today, Monday and I am to see him in one weeks time.

On each occasion I really didn't have to wait that long considering he already seemed to have a full list of other patients to see. This morning the reception was manned by two very professional ladies who, despite literally having a new computer system starting that morning and not knowing who I was or what I wanted, fitted me in very quickly and with the minimum of fuss.

I am extremely happy with my treatment, both personally and medically. Everyone seems to knock the National Health Service but where would I have been without them? Probably permanently blind in one eye or at worried that I would be.

I am due to see somebody again next week for a follow up and the receptionist managed get me an appointment at Ashford Hospital which is much nearer to me, so once again many thanks. All in all a very pleasant experience from a very efficient team. Well done
