"Parking is still a big issue"

About: Raigmore Hospital

(as a relative),

About two years ago I developed a blood clot in my left leg. While it was quite painful I was still able to drive. I drove to Raigmore and tried for 20 minutes to find a parking space in the hospital grounds.

Eventually I had to leave the hospital area and park outside about half a mile away. Not ideal and uncomfortable.

Unfortunately ...things are still no better. I have been to the hospital many more times in the past two years with my wife who does not keep well and needs assistance walking or better still a wheelchair. Parking is still a big issue particularly on weekdays from 9 till 5. In fact around five o'clock it takes ages to get out of the hospital grounds.

The existing car park looks more than adequate. I'm convinced a great many of the spaces are being taken by workers from Inverness who park at the hospital and then get a bus using a season ticket.
