"Excellent care all round"

About: Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital

My daughter has recently spent a week on Ward 1 due to a fall, she has severe mental health problems and can be difficult at times. In the past she has been taken to North Tyneside General Hospital, where the staff were very judgemental and unhelpful. The staff on ward 1 treated her with respect and dignity and did not judge her due to her mental health problems. The ward was very clean, the staff were all very friendly, helpful and efficient and ensured my daughter was comfortable throughout her stay. I can't fault this new hospital at all and would happily recommend it to others.

Dear Sir/Madam,

Sorry to hear about your daughters recent fall, this must have been very frightening for you both.

It’s great to hear that your daughters experience at The Northumbria hospital was such a positive one. I’ll make sure our team on Ward 1 are all given the opportunity to read your feedback. Your review mentions many of the things that we know are important when providing high quality, safe and compassionate care. It’s lovely to know that you would have no hesitation in recommending us.

I am concerned about your account of your daughters experience of care at North Tyneside General Hospital. I’m not sure about when this was exactly? If you feel it is appropriate for us to look further into what happened and where we can do better, I would been keen to learn more from you. With your daughters permission please email me with her details and we can look into making any necessary changes as soon as possible. My email is Annie.Laverty@nhct.nhs.uk.

Please pass my regards to your daughter. All the best to you both.

Annie
