I have to say a huge thank you and well done to every member of NHS staff that dealt with me on 30th May and my subsequent care after having my baby boy. My waters broke very early in the morning at home and the staff that saw me at the Abbey Birth Centre were lovely and reassuring. After being sent home later that night I discovered that I had a prolapsed cord which is very rare. The speed and care the ambulance crew gave was fantastic but it was when I arrived at St Peters that I was truly looked after. I was rushed to theatre for an emergency cesarean where a lovely midwife had to carry out something that was not particularly pleasant for myself but the midwife was so reassuring and calm. The speed and professionalism the whole theatre team showed was amazing and ultimately saved my little boys life who was already an IVF miracle. The after care I received on labour ward was wonderful looked after by a wonderful midwife. I must commend all the student midwives I came in contact with as they acted with the utmost professionalism. One of those being a member of staff on Joan booker ward on the night of 31st who was so compassionate and caring and so easy to talk to, as were all the staff but I found this person particularly so. It was such a traumatic way for my baby to arrive but every one of your maternity staff made me feel cared for and reassured at every step of the way. Thank you so much.
