"I brought my Mother into A & ..."

What I liked

I brought my Mother into A & E as she had not been eating and drinking for several weeks, due to depression and mental illness. Although the dept was very busy the staff were helpful and reassuring and even gave us a separate room to sit in and wait. The doctor was very helpful and sympathetic and told us exactly what would happen and why. Although we spent from 11 in the morning until 4.45pm at night until a doctor made the decision to keep Mum in (and she has still not had a psychiatric referral a day later), the staff could not have been more helpful and kind to my Mum and us. Thanks very much to all involved.

What could be improved

The MAU was very crowded - perhaps another room could be found that's a bit bigger so that relatives can wait with patients?

Anything else?

A tea and coffee machine in the relatives room at the MAU would've been very nice.
